Anyone else like creating displays to inspire your next projects?
Above are some recent fabric purchases and if you zoom in,
you'll see a calendar that is a bit behind...like me!
Just look at that patriotic FQ set.
Completely untouched and the 4th is next week!
Before I get too into all of this, let's grab our coffee
and have a look at last week.
* * * Week 25 Priority * * *
Completely finish Pepitas II.
Quilted, labeled, bound, pictured and listed.
Not quite. It turns out that prolonged absences from
one's studio can wreak a little havoc on the ol' sew-jo.
Plus, this is a big quilt! But the top is finally done,
the backing pieced and the batting is airing.
2) Choose next project
I'm still deciding on what to do with that patriotic
fat quarter set up there. I have 3 quilts in mind
but I'm not really sold on any of them just yet.
Other things:
I was on the golf course 8 times in 10 days, walking every
round (two of which were VERY windy). So, while I didn't
cover a lot of distance with my sewing machine, I definitely
did with my feet. I may have been dragging yesterday but
I'm pretty proud of those numbers.
There's a whole pace-of-play when golfing so stopping for pics
is not cool, unless you're waiting for the slow group in front of you.
This is when I busy myself with things like the "golf pic of the day".
All that wind brought in some rain but as the last sprinkles fell,
I was back out there (in the humidity!) smacking around a
little white ball when this guy caught my attention.
Next week!!
I gotta tell you fall fever is already trying to grab me and I'm
pushing it away for now but in just a week, I'll be planting
gourds and pumpkins. I already know what my first fall
quilt will be. Oooh, I can feel it coming--but no, no!
First I need to make something not-so-fall.
* * * Week 26 Priority * * *
Finish Pepitas II.
Quilt, label and bind; take pics and list.
(It's on my schedule to quilt tomorrow.)
2) Start on next project
Flags ? Or houses? Or just stars?
That's my only hint right now.
3) Plan out next 6 months of quilting
When we hit the mid-year point, I get excited about the days
getting shorter again. Hallelujah, we're on the downward slope!
Somehow that makes it just a tad easier to deal with the heat.
I also like to make a quilting game plan for the next 6 months
because focusing on all the themes of the cooler months also
gets me through July and August.
Happy quilting!
