Needle and Thread Thursday #2

 Brrr, yo?
The temps just keep dropping so I'm
hibernating in my sewing room.

Today I'm linking up to My Quilt Infatuation's
Needle and Thread Thursday to share the
progress I've made on my Snowflakes quilt.
(waiting for a better name to present itself).

I've done very little paper-piece construction,
and never a full quilt, so it has taken me a bit
to find my groove.  This method is not a favorite
but it's nice to know that if a project comes
along that I just have to make (like this one)
I have enough experience to pull it off.

So this is where things stand early on this cold,
snowy Thursday:  3 blocks down, 13 more to go.
(Yes, I know a red triangle is missing--gremlins!)

Hope you're all staying warm and
enjoying the beautiful snow if you have it.

Happy quilting!

You are just adding to your skill set. I don't do paper piecing anymore....it drives my crazy trying to think in reverse. lol, but then I do like the results. Your blocks look good so far.
Those are really neat blocks - pretty colors, too! It does take some practice getting into the grove of paper-piecing, but it looks like you're doing great!

Wish I could give you access to Mary Bakunowicz Balagna Project Linus paper piecing tutorial. It is excellent. Best part is very little fabric waste. Unfortunately you have to have participated in one of the fundraising quilt projects to have access to the videos. Tried to find another similar tutorial (coulda swore I've seen one) but couldn't find anything...I'll keep looking. Love the new quilt - your fabrics have a vintage look to them.

Beautiful blocks. Looks like paper-piecing would be the way to go with these. Love the colors!

I discovered paper piecing last year to keep busy in lockdown, and I love it!!
Just finished some cute animals for pillows for my grandkids.
Can you send me the snowflake pattern to try it out? Thanks in advance!!
