Tuesday To-Do's & Tomato Canning

Hello again.
Anyone else think Tuesday comes too soon?
Some days I feel like I'm catching up,
others...not so much.

1) West Point quilt:  Finish top

I did get this top completed and it now measures 64X64.
(Sorry, it's not very good lighting.)
Neither of my current completed tops are big so I have
this "wait till a rainy day" feeling going on with
quilting them.  Actually, we've been getting rain but
I'm still not in a huge hurry so I might wait till I get
another top made before I get into quilting mode.

2) Make a pin cushion
I still didn't get this one done but I have a quick
one picked out and will be doing it today.
(I'm actually writing this late Monday night but
I kept Tuesday open for two things only!)
I still hope to get more pin cushions made soon.

3)  Step up the Christmas gift work.
Haven't done anything but peruse for ideas and
I have nothing decided on yet.  I was all excited
about it last week but now I feel like it's
all I can do to just get some fall decor out.

The garden has taken much of my time this past week but
I think it's safe to say I'm on the downside of the season.
Today I'm canning up Italian-style tomatoes--a great way
to capture those fresh herbs while we have them.  Then,
when winter hits, we'll enjoy them in all kinds of soups.
Outside of that, and maybe getting some early fall
cleaning done (and that decor out?), I hope
to spend most of my time sewing this week.
Sewing time well-deserved and needed!

My to-do's for this week

1) Start a new quilt.
Just for fun, and maybe a little for therapy.
I have a couple options in mind but I'm waiting to
make the decision for when I actually start.

And that's it.

Completely Optional To-Do's
Load one of the quilt tops
Make pin cushion
Start on Christmas gifts

Happy quilting!

The top looks great! Finally, a less busy list of things for your week. You need to rest up for the fall season :)

Hi Cheree! How wonderful that you have the WP quilt top together already! Personally, I think thinking about Christmas gifts is as important as the doing part. You can't just make things willy nilly! I've visited a few participants' blogs today and I think I'll be starting a new quilt project myself - a squirrel for sure. Thanks for linking up today. ~smile~ Roseanne

Well, if the rainy days don't motivate you to get quilting, you can always change that to "wait for a SNOWY day" instead! I think you need to be in the right frame of mind to get started with quilting, and some days it's just not meant to be. Good for you, thinking ahead to Christmas at all right now!
I agree that starting a new quilt is very therapeutic! Go for it!

Quilting just for fun is the best! I hope you go right ahead and play. We'll just wait here to see what you come up with. I think, with all that hard work both in the quilt room and the garden, you deserve it. Enjoy!
