One Monthly Goal for March & Tuesday To-Do's

🎉 I am back on my computer ðŸŽ‰
so now that I can get my "one monthly goal"
in for March I'm including it today with my
Tuesday To-Do's.

March Monthly Goal:

Make a queen-size quilt for my son.

It's Lynn's pattern, but not her new method.  I wanted
traditional so I looked around, did a little "math'ing"
(on this blog, we make up our own words)
and I eventually got it worked out.

I made a trial block to make sure I math'd (see?) correctly.
(Actually, this is me being sarcastic about math)
I think the rest will be mostly darker than this
so those deeper tans/golds won't stand out so much.

The pieces are all cut and I'm ready to go.
This is what I'll be working on today, tho I may
work out a Farmer's Wife block first.

This quilt is for his bed here at home--one rarely used,
especially now that he just got a summer internship up
in Omaha but he has always wanted an American-themed
quilt and it will be here for him whenever he's home.

On to the to-do's!

Tuesday To-Do’s from last week:

Have my beloved computer back--DONE!  YAY!

Two Farmer’s Wife Blocks completed--done!

Quilt up the Irish Chain, provided my ordered
thread arrives in a timely manner
I waited till there was free shipping to order but the
thread should be here, well, hopefully tomorrow.
Backing is pieced and the entire quilt is loaded.

Get Pom made and attached to hat--done!
I actually did some over-achieving here.  I whipped
out an entire second little hat for a little boy who
had to spend a few days in the hospital.
My hands like to stay busy, even when the rest of me
is taking a break so I'm now looking for another knitting
project.  (I should be looking at my UFO's but...)

To-Do's For Next Tuesday:

1) Quilt the Irish chain

2) Get blocks made for son's quilt

3) Make at least one Farmer's Wife block

4) Find something to knit in the evenings

I’m way behind due to my "week of no computer,"
I have a pretty busy week ahead and one of my
sons will be home for spring break in a few days.
The weather is also telling me it's time to start
working outside.  I've also been spending more
time on my health and doing a little spring cleaning
(all of which are coming up in later posts).
With all of that I'm not as confident that I'll
complete all of my to-do's but I'm gonna give
it my best shot.  Good luck to everyone else!

Happy to-do'ing and quilting!

Hi Cheree! Gosh, I just LOVE the math'ing block. LOVE it! So his quilt is going to be comprised of blues, reds and neutrals/tans/beiges? It sure looks pretty from what you've shared. As are the Farmer's blocks. Those fabrics and colors are gorgeous together. Good luck with your list this week, and thanks for linking up today. ~smile~ Roseanne
Looks like your mathing worked ;) That will be a nice quilt when it is done. Glad you have your computer back.
That's a really neat block for your son's quilt! I like the scrappy look of it. Quilty math can be a bit challenging for me, but if all the blocks are made the same way, usually you're good to go!
Beautiful test block, your maths are good ;)
