not so quick and easy.
Remember the random layout from yesterday's post?
I worked and worked, changed the design a little,
fudged my way through a HST or two and
magically found a matching orange in my stash
to allow me to come up with the following layout.
Note the red section looks almost orange but it's really
pinks and reds. There are also a couple HST's in the
browns that are brown chicken fence on white. This
shows up much better when up close which is
where one will be when using a quilt so no worries there.
I know I sound like a broken record but really, these colors are
so off in the full picture! But it was brutal windy out so this was
my only option for a full pic. I fell asleep last night thinking
I really need to find a spot in the house with better lighting
even if I have to pin quilts to a rope or something.
Meanwhile, I'm filling this posts with pics in an
effort to show their correct color.
Other notes:
There are two HST's in the oranges that don't pair up
exactly but when I changed the pattern, I hit a glitch.
Long story short, I did the best I could with what I had.
The center isn't my favorite but overall I'm pretty happy
with the outcome but, yet again, I'm swearing off pre-cuts.
While I know they work for some, personally I just don't
like being confined to those few amounts and choices.
I'm happy to have another one used up!
As amazing as it is that this still came together in just 24
hours, it's even more so that I also have the backing pieced
and the batting cut. I'm in no hurry to get it quilted
but it's all ready to go. It's a Christmas gift so
no pressure there. Now to start something else.
Something with much less mental work, please!
Happy quilting!
