Irish Chain Blocks Done and a Garden Update

Eighteen blocks to show today!

8-inch chain blocks

Now it's time to play around with the blocks
to place in between.  I like some that are in the
to put in some of my own.  Insert today's plan.

I'm still pretty tired and trying to recover from all
the exciting things going on--and now we're throwing
another pool party this weekend so yep, I have a
very-much-needed half-day set aside.

Bright summery fabrics are also in the plan.

Mixing in some scrappy 30's

The uniformity of the chain blocks should keep a nice look
going but for some fun, in the alternating blocks
I'm bringing in some scrappy from the stash above.

On to other things...
The garden is really kicking out the produce these days.
The unusually mild weather has really been great
for keeping things easy on me.  So far, no heat to limit
my work time to the early hours of the day.

What I'm most excited about all of the strawberries!
These, along with the beets, are for my daily smoothies,
which means I really can't get too many.   Also picking
romaine, radishes, yellow squash, zucchini and peas.
The asparagus has just another week before I let it go
to fern (supplying the energy needed for next year's season).
As always there are plenty of herbs and green onions to cook
with whenever we need.  So much more fun to head to
the garden instead of the grocery store!

Now, for hopefully a few hours of
uninterrupted quilting to just...
reset!

Happy quilting!

Love the Irish chain blocks. Can't wait to see what you have for the alternate blocks. LOVE LOVE LOVE picking fresh peas from the garden. They rarely make into the house.

That is going to be a beautiful Irish Chain.

Summer gardens are the best. I love picking our food.
Needled Mom: Thanks! I think it's going to be a great summer for the garden!
