FMQ Ideas for A Very Merry

Even with the upcoming holiday, I managed to find
the time to get the applique on A Very Merry.

What do you think?  Don't the poinsettias just set it off?
I might be ready to make another in blues/greens!

Maybe the poinsettia fabric should be tad darker but,
really, it was the best choice and I'm happy.
I plan on using this red for the binding as well.

I also pieced together a backing that would do
my thriftiest quilting ancestors proud.
Used up most of the scraps and then some!

It's layered and basted and is now sitting on
my sewing machine just waiting for some time and
just the right FMQ idea.  I think I'll do some
inside-shadowing on the petals but the rest of the quilt
has me stumped.  Tomorrow I'll do some surfing
for ideas while waiting on the turkey to cook.

Thanksgiving blessings to you and your families!

Cheree, it looks bee-u-tiful!! Maybe if you did some kinda swirly things or loops. I don't do FMQ so I'm not going to come up with anything very good. I hope that you have a great Thanksgiving :)
Ooo yes, the poinsettias are lovely. Really do add the 'wow' factor. Could you possibly FMQ within the petals to highlight them, and then just do some simple quilting mimicing the squares for the rest of the quilt? I don't really know - I'm sure whatever you do will be fab. Can't wait to see it in it's finished glory (and the red binding will be gorgeous!)

Beautiful....would love to see lots of swirls on this. Outline around the poinsettias....remember what you quilt down will recede and what is outlined will come forward. Great job.

So lovely, very glad that you were able to join us at Pin'Inspiration Thursday.

Happy new follower :-)
Lovely quilt. If you do blues & greens, you could just change the type of flower to match.
