Week 10: 1776 Finish

After soooo many months of waiting, the move is upon us.
Dragging it out for so long has at least made it easier for
hubs and I (in our middle age) to get everything ready.
 We're almost there.  Almost.
I continue to be very at peace with all of it but even more
has have happened over the last few weeks to make it
easier to walk away.  Always trust God has a plan.

Well I usually have a plan too.
I mean, if you're going to imitate Someone....!

"1776" (70x87)

Last week's plan was to finish my latest top but with
all that's going on, that just wasn't going to cut it.
I needed to completely finish something!

Oh the relief!

I scored the backing fabric last year at Primitive Gatherings.
I still remember hesitating, wondering if I had room in my luggage.
But it was on clearance and I knew I'd be making patriotic quilts
this year!  I'm now so glad I brought it back home.  Perfect, eh?

This pattern is "Flag Day" by Annie's Attic.
At the time of writing this, it's on sale for a mere $3, btw.
If you are interested in making it, I put a few tips here.

I really prefer Yorktown as a name but I think 1776 is more
readily understood/recognized when it comes to patriotism.

SO, 1776 it is.  This, my last quilt finish...maybe for the year?
WOW!  There's a thought!
But with all the tops that I'll be sewing up while I watch
my new "dream studio" grow should carry over to a
quilt-making record-breaking year in 2027.

I am unsure when my next post will be and my to-do list
for the next few weeks is rather astounding so I'll just
leave off with these wishes:

Happy quilting!
Have a blessed Holy Week & a Happy Easter!

The Lord DOES have a plan... we just have to trust the process. Praying for you as the real transitions begin. Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell.
That's a gorgeous finish, Cheree - that design might just be my favorite flag quilt ever! Best of luck with the move. Hope all goes smoothly!

Good luck with your move...always a busy time no matter how organised you are!
I agree with Diann, this might be my favorite flag quilt ever! I am certainly zipping over to get the pattern. And that backing - beautiful! I think of you almost every day and wonder how it's going, so you can bet I'll be praying that everything goes smoothy for you. Maybe you can get in a round or two of golf :D

Cheree your 1776 is a beautiful finish for the last one in the old house. I’ll be looking forward to seeing your first finish in your new home. I’m hoping your move goes well and the builders are making good progress on your studio (and the rest of the house, too🤭). Thank you for sharing your news with all of us on To Do Tuesday. We will miss seeing all of your beautiful finishes but we will think of you getting out on the course more often and look forward to seeing all of the pretty quilt tops you’ll be making. 😉 Carol
Yes, we have to trust God's plan for us, Cheree. Love your beautiful patriotic quilt and I know you feel better to have it completely done. There is great satisfaction in completing a project. I wish you well with preparing to move. Not a fun job, but it will be worth it. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings. Have a great week.
Your quilt is gorgeous, the backing is also perfect! Good luck with the move.
