'25 Week 8 Progress/Week 9 Goals

Hello and welcome to week 9.
Our temps have taken a very drastic swing.
Going from -21 windchills to 70 degrees and sunny within
a week is crazy but I think it has been a welcome change.
I really would take a little more winter but I'm starting to feel
that pull toward spring cleaning--indoors and out.  I'm making
my garden notes as I look forward to all of the farm-to-table
meals shared with friends and family--outside, of course.
I've needed this hibernation but it's time for life to pick up its
pace once again.

Even though I was inside, my pace wasn't too shabby last week.
Grab your cuppa and let's have a look at how things went.

Week 8 Progress

1) Start on Nestled in the Trees
DONE.

I'm off to a great start with this one;
just a few houses and small trees remain.

Cutting from the scraps of my "Christmas at Buttermilk Acres"
FQ set (used in Star Twist) added a little extra time of but the
instructions have been the real battle.  It's very cute but when
I go to make my Halloween house quilt (2025 list), I'll be
choosing from any of my other house patterns.   Oi!
All that aside, it's looking good so far and I'm hoping
for a finished top by next week.

2) Complete QAL weeks #6 & 7; post #6.
All HST's sewn; pic and post to come.

3) Find baby quilt fabrics.
Still looking.
I still haven't found what I'm after so I guess that's my cue:
time for a MSQC run.
I'm not a huge fan of them lately but I love a good road trip so
I try to make the 4-hour drive every year or so, and it's been a
long while.  They're a solid resource when hunting for specific
fabrics so off I go.  And I hope the yarn store is still there among
the shops and I'm able (with help) to set myself up with a few
projects to take on all of those upcoming trips.

4) Finish photographing and listing all 4 quilts
DONE!

WP Stars 6 (56x56) SOLD

I've already shown the smaller but I'm showing both WP
quilts for comparison.  (It's a struggle to avoid shadows!)
The interested party has already purchased WP Stars #6.

WP Stars 7 (55x70)

The others were Star Twist and FallSpice (previous posts).

5) Finish knitting UFO #1; look into #2
So close to being done--just a few more rows to go.
It's kinda funny how many times I've gone back and forth:
knit, un-knit, knit...<curse> UNknit, and so on.
At least I can laugh about it.

Next week is looking pretty busy with the road trip, and lots of
tee times (yay!) but I'm still shooting for decent progress.

Week 9 Goals:
1) Finish Nestled in the Trees top; rename.
2) Finish knitting hat; pull out UFO #2
3) Start on baby quilt--assuming I find the fabrics
4) Post Week 7 of QAL; sew up more if time
5) Take MSQC road trip pics and post

Happy quilting and knitting!

What a productive week! I can see why the Stars quilt is popular. Love the pantograph you chose for it.

You've been nicely busy and yay on the SOLD! I love the Nestled in the Trees pattern, so sweet. I feel the same about the weather - I love winter, but I was ready for warmth.

We got some nice temps here the last few days, not pontoon boat weather, but it's making me wish for those warmer days!! Keep up the good work and enjoy your trip!!

The warm weather has been really nice, but they are already noting we may have strong thunderstorms with high tornado risks the second week in March. I'm so not ready for that. Congrats on all the progress this last week and on the sale of the WP Stars #6. Enjoy your road trip this week, safe travels.
