I have no excuses. All I did was blink. Honestly!
But I met my progress goal and then some, and that's
really what we're here for today so let's get to it.
The goal for week 20 was to:
Finish sewing the last of Unity QAL HSTs into units; there are
a LOT left but I think I need to start making up for lost time!
Unlike meeting my posting goal, I completed this one on time.
There they all are in all their glory.
I really should count them but it's a lot--like hundreds and hundreds.
And these little guys finish up at 2".
Here's the view in the sewing room this morning as I work
to put all of these guys into bigger blocks. Randomly.
Which means that at some point I'm going to have to stop just
flying through it willy-nilly and separate them into block sets
so I end random. Depending on the state of things, I generally
do this somewhere between 1/2-way and 3/4 of the way
through the piecing process.
Speaking of views! How about a sneak peak at the new studio??
And behind me as I took this pic is a wonderfully large closet
for storing all my batting and other supplies. So big that I'll
never fill it. Also off-pic is my the bathroom (to the left).
If you zoom, you can see the lake.
[sorry, it's not real clear]
Oh, the happy thoughts I have of snowy sew days!
A frozen lake, snow coming down...gah! 😍
Back to the Now and to next week's goal.
My pile of completed blocks is growing. Hubs is on vacay this
week but I'm still hoping to get on the backside of this process
so I can get the last portion divided into perfectly random sets.
Once the blocks are done I'm not sure if I want to try to put this
together without a design wall. I hate putting projects aside
but I don't think I have an option here.
This is enough for a king but my plan is to make a large queen
in case I decide to keep it (leaning toward selling). Either way,
that's a really big quilt to do without a design wall.
And no, this rental doesn't have the floor space for that route.
So we'll see how I far I get with these blocks by next week.
I'm doing a really lame job of keeping up on everyone else's
progress; for this, I apologize! I'm adding that to my goals.
Week 23 Goals
1) Piece at least half of the blocks
2) Portion out the remainder into sets
3) Catch up on other blogs
4) Keep striving for weekly posts
If here in the States, I hope you all had a lovely Memorial Day.
Happy quilting!
