Don't you just wish you could do it all?
That's me in a nutshell.
I think I'm fairly proficient in cooking, gardening and preserving, and I always do my best to make everything from scratch and even home-grown from the garden whenever possible. I grew up a farm girl (youngest of 7), but now I'm just a hobby-farmer of a large garden and 6 chickens on our 3 little acres on the very edge of the city.
I've quilted for about 12 years so I think I could work my way through most patterns/directions (though I don't own a quilting machine and this causes me much stress when it comes to putting a large project on my good ol' faithful, Ms. Bernina. I so long for perfect & uniform machine quilting!). I used to sew clothes (started teaching myself when I was 11) but that was before I discovered quilting. It's much quicker to just buy clothes, even though I don't like to shop, and then I've saved more time for my other hobbies...

I've dabbled in scrapbooking and I really enjoy it, but I just don't feel creative enough to go very far with it. I admit that it's the beautiful papers that get me there. Don't you just LOVE the patterns and colors?!? That, I'm sure, is linked to my love of fabrics.
I'm nuts for knitting, but I have so much to learn there--I have kind of figured out the cable and know how to make hats and, just recently, socks so now I can just knit socks, socks and more socks! (I do have a thing for socks, and pajamas, which, I think, says I like to be comfortable...)

I have a cricut and a small collection of cartidges that beg for my attention and some good ideas.
I'll do just about any general craft so I love to surf blogs where I find sooo many creative people to inspire me with their ideas. You should see my desktop--it's covered with shortcuts to all kinds of blogs and recipes. (My kids make fun of me for this.) These are mostly ideas for gifts because, as every crafter knows, nothing crafted by hand has much meaning until you gift it away. :o)
~Other Tidbits~
I love fall the best but a winter snow will absolutely bring out the kid in me. And when it's too dark to watch it through every single window (because each has its own scene), my favorite spot would be in a big chair, with a good classic book, by the fire with either jazz or classical music playing lightly in the background. I love to go "out" and enjoy a good glass of wine and a finely-prepared meal, especially with my husband who's been my best friend since we were 16. Sundays are made firstly for God, then for family and then for football--which is the only thing on television you'll ever find me watching...unless someone has slipped in a movie. My marriage and my family strive to live by Jesus and His Church and I only wish all could see the wonderful simplicity, happiness and peace in doing just that. :o)
